Kokopelli Scarf
My husband and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary in January by going out for dinner in Cambridge. The restaurant happens to be next to one of my favorite yarn shops and so as a memory of this special day, I bought some yarn to make a scarf. This scarf is made with two different kinds of yarn from Fiesta Yarns, Kokopelli (60% brushed kid mohair, 40% wool) in a blueberry color and La Boheme (strand of brushed kid mohair and strand of rayon boucle) in Sandstone colorway. It is knit sideways by casting on 180 stitches (crochet cast on) using Kokopelli and then alternating knitting one row with La Boheme and then a row with Kokopelli until you are about to run out of the Kokopelli. You then bind off using the last of the Kokopelli. If you twist the ends when you change yarns, you can fringe the scarf as you go. The Kokopelli is a very soft, loosely spun singles yarn -- very nice. The La Boheme is shiny, fuzzy and kind of crisp feeling all at the same time and has a nice texture from the rayon boucle. I like how this scarf turned out. I knitted the scarf using a circular Addi Turbo needle, US #15. Here's a picture of the completed scarf:
